Eat This Not That

Eat This Not ThatIs anyone else willing to admit they MIGHT have an addiction to Quest bars?! Nothing wrong with them, I’m just sensing an addiction coming on, personally.

I think maybe I should have 3 homemade peanut butter Shakeology bites when the Quest cravings hit. We’ll see how long I can go without…lol!

What do YOU need to go cold turkey on?!

Healthy Grilled Cheese

Healthy Grilled CheeseWHO ELSE LOVES EATING LIKE YOU’RE 10?

This is Sesame Ezekiel bread (freezer section…toast it to thaw it) with all-natural and organic coconut spread as the butter (found at my regular grocery store), baby spinach, sliced tomatoes, and non-dairy, gluten-free vegan cheese slices.

No, I’m not vegan, but I sometimes eat like one and I like to try new things You could use a reduced-fat low sodium cheese instead:) btw, this was YUMMY!!

Just Start

Just StartAre you not into strength training because you’re trying to lose weight first?

Lifting is an integral part of getting lean and fit.You just have to eat the right AMOUNT of food and avoid empty/processed/sugary/junky calories so that the fat sheds anda more toned body shows thru.

But be consistent for at least 12wks before you evaluate what it’s doing for you.

Peanut Butter Bites

Peanut Butter BitesThese are THE BOMB!

Use as pre-workout or to satisfy your PB craving, or to replace your addiction to protein bars with an all-natural, low sugar, homemade option. And kids love them too!

Recipe

Mix all ingredients in large bowl:

  • 1 cup Just Great Stuff powdered PB (or PB2. Both available at Amazon.com)
  • 1/2 cup all-natural Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 6 packets Stevia
  • 1 scoop superfood Vanilla Shakeology
  • 1 cup dry oatmeal

Mix well. Form into golf-ball sized bites. Freeze for 1-2 hrs and keep frozen.

When you want one, let it stand for 30 seconds to thaw a little.

Makes ~12-15. They’re ~80-100 calories each and ~8g protein.

PB & J

PB & JWho LOVES PB & J ?!?!

I used Ezekiel toasted English muffin (check freezer section), a clean organic strawberry spread from WholeFoods and “Just Great Stuff” (Amazon) instead of real PB since it was just a pre-workout small meal/snack.

Healthy Dinner

Quinoa with Turkey Burger CrumblesDoes this help inspire a healthy dinner tonight?!

This was an earlier meal for me; I’ll probably do Shakeology and salad tonight. But this was Quinoa with turkey burger crumbles, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes with a side of hummus!

We make Turkey burgers and quinoa a couple times a week so they are ready to go ahead of time!

Post Workout Bliss

Anyone else have pre-workout fantasies about their post-workout shake?!

Messy but Awesome!

Doesn’t this look good?! It was!

One of my favorite sandwiches… lean turkey burger (no special recipe) but since they tend to be dry, I patty them up thinner and use a healthy and creamy condiment.

On this one, nonfat plain Greek yogurt (like sour cream but healthy) with avocado and spicy Dijon mustard all on a toasted Ezekiel english muffin (found at most grocers).

Messy, but awesome!

Peanut Butter Addiction

Peanut Butter addiction anyone?!

Toasted Ezekiel muffin with PB and banana with coffee…consumed an hour and a half before the lift & HIIT workout I did with Chalene Johnson, Bret Johnson and Matt.

Sweet Snack

Do you crave something sweet in the afternoon?

Here’s a little snack/small meal (whatever you would like to call it).

It’s 1/3 cup granola, 1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt sweetened with Stevia, 1/4 banana, 2-3 strawberries, a few blueberries and 1 tbsp of “Just Great Stuff” drizzled on top (of course added water to Just Great Stuff to get it to peanut butter drizzle.
