No Short Cuts

No Short Cuts

Fitness & health is caring for your body & it should be a part of your life just like brushing your teeth. If you’ve found some kind of short cut to fat loss that allows you to eat whatever you want or NOT work out, how do you think that “freedom” will affect your future health?

Real health & fitness isn’t found in those short cut ways

No Short Cuts

Don’t Give Up Fighting that Negative Voice in Your Head

When I feel like overeating, skipping a workout (for no reason), or just going thru the motions (just because), I remind myself those seemingly insignificant actions will have a significant compound negative effect on my fitness.

Can you relate??

It won’t show up today, but the bad habits start to show up in how you feel, how you think, how you perform & then how you look. You can’t give up fighting that negative voice in your head trying to distract & deter your discipline. Train your brain to shut it down & instead repeat all the ridiculously POSITIVE thoughts

Stay consistent and put belief & purpose over fear

We’ll be designing a new home gym in the new house, all in one space, whereas now it’s broken up into 3 rooms. All because I made a scary decision to build a business that would align with my priorities. Being a stay-at-home mom and having my own fitness business was a dream for me. I couldn’t afford to just quit my full time job when I started this business so I had to bust ass to create time to work this.

Matt & I feel blessed to say “started from the bottom now we’re here But it comes down to choices; daily seemingly-insignificant choices that aren’t always convenient or comfortable. Most people choose what’s SAFE, traditional & convenient.

Thankfully I learned from my dad, a successful entrepreneur, to take some leaps of faith in life and don’t take the easy way out.

ANYONE can have huge success in this business if they are consistent and put belief & purpose over fear (mostly fear of judgement & failure)

Then trust in God and the process.

You learn the fastest from failure

It’s not about ideas as much as it is about making ideas happen! Right ?!

Don’t be afraid to get it all wrong. You learn the fastest from failure.

If you’re struggling to reach your goals…

Plain Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia + “Purely Elizabeth” pumpkin granola & Grilled Chicken Kale Salad.

BUT …here’s the thing, you can eat SOOO healthy but if you are doing any of the following, you may be struggling to reach your goals:

1. Picking/grazing without realizing it. Empty calories & mindless grazing can add up SO FAST & yet are easy to forget you ate them.

2. Consuming too much sugar. Some foods that DO have nutritional value, also have added sugar (check the sugar content on your yogurt, your energy bars, your cereal/oatmeal, your “skinny latte” (skim milk has 15g sugar)

3. Consuming alcohol too often. Of course you gotta enjoy life, just decide when it’s worth it since it significantly slows your metabolism until it’s out of your system & is obviously addictive.

4. Doing too much of the same workouts. Even though you still FEEL like it’s tough & you’re sweating, you’ve GOT to mix it up & create muscle confusion.

5. Eating too little OR too much. Typically you’re unaware that’s the problem. You can’t eat like someone else & expect to have their results. If you think this could be it, follow the Portion Fix meal plan (container system which takes your data into consideration) or IIFYM (=if it fits your macros). You don’t have to track calories or macros or measure your foods for the rest of your life, but it’s good to have SOME clue of portions and macro nutrient needs so you can develop lifelong habits around that knowledge. Some people do well eating intuitively, but most have to track things at least once in a while because our habits and our bodies DO change.

..just to name a few! Which one, if any, do you struggle with ?

Did you think you’d be further along by now?

Did you think you’d be further along by now??

Well then PERFECT! That just means the opportunity is probably bigger for you than it was for someone else!

The people who are the most inspiring are the people who show they’ve overcome the MOST obstacles & beat the strongest odds. Those are the people who give others hope & a reason to carry on.

Everyone loves a comeback story, a rags-to-riches story, a transformation story, a struggled rise-to-the-top story! But what’s even cooler is showing OTHERS like you that it CAN be done ..despite what others may think or say.

Serving others leads to confidence & sense of purpose. Confidence & sense of purpose lead to happiness The challenge is where it all begins

I love challenges!!

(except no-point-to-it, annoying challenges)

Don’t let someone’s opinion cloud your view

Agreed??

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for being open to new perspectives and opinions but when you’re bummed out about a negative comment or one that you just completely disagree with, I think it helps to just say “well they haven’t experienced what I have” or maybe it’s “they don’t know ME or what I’ve overcome” but either way, don’t let others’ opinions hold you back! Right ??

Do the right thing

Shout out to all who agree & practice this in real life!

Healthy Lunch before Summit Rehearsal

Just a pic of our lunch before my rehearsal at the convention center

I’m really so honored to be asked to speak at the Leadership portion of Summit!

As you know, I don’t particularly like public speaking but when it’s a business topic I’m passionate about teaching to others, it comes MUCH easier.

I just focus on them and the message I need to make sure they hear loud and clear vs what they may think of me as a person or as a speaker. I’m not there to be liked or put on a pedestal, I’m there to teach. And I hope people have an easier time succeeding as a result
