Are Mediterranean Tacos a thing?

Are Mediterranean Tacos a thing??? Or did I just make this up??

I used Siete Foods taco shells which are grain-free & 14g carbs for 2 shells, spring mix🍃turkey burger (but use whatever), PLAIN Greek yogurt for the sour cream -we were out of Tzatziki sauce😢, feta cheese and kalamata olives! Then I drizzled Lemon Garlic dressing by Tessemaes! 🤩

 

 

Ezekiel Wrap Pizza

THIS WAS STRAIGHT MONEY! In less than 10 minutes! I’ve heard you want to see more food (btw, I show more food in IG stories)!

Here’s what this is:

🍕 Preheat oven to 450°
🍕 Spray a cookie baking sheet/pan
🍕 Place an Ezekiel wrap on it & bake 3-4 minutes
🍕 Add your toppings! I added pizza sauce, arugula 🌿, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes🍅, & black olives😍

If you’re adding cheese or toppings that need to be melted, place it back in the oven for a couple minutes.

How many mugs of coffee are you consuming per day?! How much sugar is in your creamer? 🧐

No judgement here☝🏼 ..especially not from me who has the bad habit of adding whip (WARNING⚠️: addicting) I just think it’s an important discussion😁.

I usually have one ☕️ in the a.m. and one in the afternoon ☕️ . I’m not advocating that☺️, I’m just sharing my truth. At night I do decaf coffee or Organifi hot cocoa.

If you’re using a creamer that’s higher in sugar, it could be spiking your insulin & setting off your cravings for the day🤦🏼‍♀️ leading you to snack/graze even though you’re not truly hungry🥨🍪🍫.

Or is it your cereal & milk setting you off?? Or maybe the drive-thru latte, or the sweetened oatmeal?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Crunch

SO GOOD! So many asked for this recipe when I showed it on my story the other day! You might wanna save this recipe my friend!

The best way I can describe this is like a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Crunch🍪Ice Cream Blizzard🍦🍫… but it’s actually 3-4 servings of nutrient dense & low glycemic fruits and vegetables!! 🤯I had this post workout today👌🏼

Here’s the recipe I used …
* 1 1/4 cup ice
* 3/4 cup Unsweetened almond milk
* 1 Scoop Vegan Chocolate superfood
* 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
* Blend in blender

I’m sure you could achieve this with just a protein powder if you don’t care about getting in greens🍃 and micro nutrients with this🌱

Stir in…
* 2 Tbsp “Just Great Stuff” (or your peanut powder of choice)
* 1 crumbled PB Chocolate beachbar

What was your FAVE childhood food?!When I was little, I used to eat 4 hot dogs in one sitting🤦🏼‍♀️plus dessert!

Hot dogs, pizza, pop tarts, cinnamon sugar toast & Cap’n Crunch cereal .. pretty much sums up my diet until I was about 14.
.
Luckily mom & dad didn’t let it get TOO out of hand and I was active in sports and dance. BUT …sometimes those childhood habits still TRY to creep in as an adult 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fairly common habits for a kid/teen BUT☝🏼don’t just give up fighting your old ways and LIKEWISE, don’t give up on educating & transitioning your kids to better eating AND getting in exercise!
.
Get educated on what’s REALLY being put in our food (for ex: the @131methodbook , the Shawn the Model Health Show podcast) & then get creative with food variety & exercise☝🏼
.
Don’t force it but give them a reason to WANT to (you’ll run faster🏃‍♀️, you’ll jump higher, your swing will be stronger⚾️, you’ll think more clearly for the test🙇🏼‍♀️, you’ll grow faster, etc)
.
They’ll thank u later when they’re having an easier time with body image💃🏽, mental health🙇🏼‍♀️, and weight management thru college, thru that first stressful career👩🏼‍💻, the stress of debt 💴 , relationships💏, starting a family 👶🏼 , etc.

Sorry this so long😵 but I give support & accountability to women every day who have a poor body image🚶‍♀️ and are trying to break unhealthy relationships with food (& often alcohol). I don’t want your daughter (or son) to need me! Instead I hope they educate & lead the next generation.

Tuna fish by Wild Planet Foods

This was a tuna fish (by WildPlanetFoods) made with Primal Kitchen avocado oil mayo on Ezekiel English muffin (toasted☝🏼😉). All sold at most grocery stores🙌🏼

I don’t count calories or macros but I do eat with AWARENESS of (not *restriction of*. Awareness means making sure I’m getting enough but also not TOO much) all these things: calories, macronutrients , micronutrients, ingredients in general (looking for low glycemic aka low sugar, fiber-rich carbs, no sucralose, no maltitol, no vegetable oils, no carrageenan, … just to name a few). I’m ALL FOR tracking your intake so you’re more aware of your habits and where you need to improve, if that’s where you’re at right now. I’ve journaled my intake many times over the past years & that’s why I have a fairly keen awareness. I still track once in a blue moon if I feel the need. Our nutritional needs are always changing as we age, transform, get stronger, need healing, hormones change, etc.

Do your research not only on what’s in the foods you & your kids eat/drink but what agrees/disagrees with you and what foods/drinks/activities tempt you to go off track the rest of the day/week.

If I have to stop for “fast food”, I’ll usually find a Starbucks bcuz I LOVE these egg white bites with avocado spread!

DISCLOSURE: I’m not claiming to have studied the ingredients nor am I advocating Starbucks as having amazingly healthy options (so please don’t scold me 🙉 & please check labels and know your own nutritional needs) but this is just a once-in-awhile thing and if I’m going to share openly here, that includes the random stuff I do, the random stuff I think, the random stuff I buy & the random stuff I eat too Mostly this randomness is shared in stories.

Btw, is it true Starbucks offers an almond milk now that’s only 3g sugar? How did I not know this If so, I’ll switch from getting a plain latte with coconut milk to a latte w/almond milk!

Splurges

Grateful for this day and this week!!

Just finished some cake 🎂 celebrating my mother in laws Birthday! She’s amazing!

I often don’t share those splurge moments because I’m being present in THE MOMENT not “oh, hold on everyone☝🏼, let me grab my phone & document me eating this cake!”😆 I mean, if it happens to work out to do so, I will 😁but I gotta live my life too & not feel that I have to grab my phone especially during family & special times☝🏼😉

I know many have said they want to see when I splurge more, & I do try, but those times are usually special times (family time, date nights, holidays, etc) where I’m intentionally unplugged. Ya know?
